- Glastonbury fans think they know who will headline 2024 edition of the festival
Glastonbury fans think they know who will headline the 2024 edition of the festival after some eagle-eyed work online.
A post on X, formerly Twitter, shared the dates of one artist’s upcoming tour schedule for 2024, spying a gap in the slot where Glastonbury will take place.
Headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Guns N Roses and Elton John in 2023, the festival will take place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from Wednesday June 26 to Sunday June 30 in 2024.
It has seen speculation increase as to who will be the next headliners at Glastonbury, one of the world’s most popular music festivals.

Fan account Glastopia, which has over 5,000 followers on X, reposted a photo of Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics tour dates across Europe and Asia with the caption ‘I spy a big gap in June’.
The poster shows scheduled concerts for the singer in both Malta and Tenerife in June 2024, with an asterisk denoting that the exact venues and dates for both shows are yet to be confirmed.
There are no further dates in June, with Sheeran’s following gig on his tour currently slated to be in Gdansk, Poland, on July 12 2024, leaving a big gap for him to potentially make another Glastonbury appearance.
Sheeran made his Glastonbury debut in 2011 – prior to the release of his first album Plus – at the Croissant Neuf tent in the Green Fields.
Having also played at the festival in 2014, he made a headline appearance on the Pyramid Stage to close proceedings at Glastonbury in 2017.
It comes as Glastonbury boss Emily Eavis revealed that while headliners for next year’s edition have not been organised yet – a big American artist called to say they are available – reports revealed Madonna is in advanced talks to take to the Pyramid stage in the summer.
Speaking on Sidetracked with Annie Macmanus and Nick Grimshaw on BBC Sounds, Emily said: ‘2024 is still a little up in the air… And I thought it was kind of taking shape and then last week I just got a call, and this is what happens if you wait a little longer, because quite often we’ll be booked up from July.
‘This year we’re holding out for a little bit longer and last week I got a call from a really big American artist saying this person’s around next year, and I was like oh my God, this is incredible, thank God we held the slot.’

Emily also responded to criticism surrounding last year’s all male headliners, hinting that there might be two female headliners in 2024 and confirms the Sunday legend slot will be female.
She said: ‘I’ve always been really passionate about gender split [on festival line ups] and I think actually, our problem was that I’d been so outspoken about it that having a year where there wasn’t a female sent people a bit mad, or some people.
‘And actually we did have a female, she pulled out and we replaced them with Guns (N’ Roses) on the Saturday… But everyone who knows, knows that it’s top of my list. I’m always trying to make it the most balanced, diverse bill.
‘And who knows next year we might get two… And certainly I can say that the legend is female.’
Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen are also among bookmakers’ current favourites to headline the Pyramid Stage on either the Friday, Saturday or Sunday of the event.
Glastonbury 2024 will take place from 26 to 30 June and tickets go on sale on Sunday 5 November.
