Sen. Katie Britt Hammers Biden’s ‘Abdication of Management’ Forward of Debt Ceiling Negotiations

Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) hammered President Joe Biden’s “abdication of management” forward of negotiations with Democrat Senate Chief Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Home Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) relating to the debt ceiling.

Britt, together with Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), despatched a letter to Biden on Friday that affirmed Senate Republicans’ opposition to elevating the debt ceiling with out “structural reforms to handle present and future fiscal realities, really implement the funds and spending guidelines on the books, and handle out-of-control authorities insurance policies.”

The letter, which Republican Coverage Committee chair Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) signed, reiterated their dedication to the Senate Republican Convention’s coverage that “any enhance within the debt ceiling should be accompanied by cuts in federal spending of an equal or better quantity because the debt ceiling enhance, or significant structural reform in spending, such because the Forestall Authorities Shutdown Act or the Full Religion and Credit score Act.”
